Marin Resource Recovery Center

The Marin Resource Recovery Center is the primary materials recovery facility for residential and commercial customers in Marin County, located at 565 Jacoby Street in San Rafael. Part of the Marin Sanitary family of companies, it operates a large enclosed indoor dump built in 1987 and processes nearly 3,000 tons of recyclables each month, sorting mixed solid waste with screens, conveyors, magnets, and hand-sorting to recover metal, wood, concrete, paper, and other materials. The facility accepts non-hazardous construction and demolition debris, bulky items, yard debris, and common recyclables for a fee, and provides diversion reports for contractors needing to document recycling rates for LEED and CalGreen compliance. Treated wood waste and household hazardous waste are not accepted.
